This class is required to obtain a Concealed Handgun Permit in Ohio.

This class is required to obtain a Concealed Handgun Permit in Ohio. We recommend this course even if you don’t wish to obtain your permit or carry concealed but have, or plan on having, a weapon in your home for self defense. Our instructors will make you feel welcome and will take the time necessary to provide every student with the training they require to be successful. Our instructors will also be sure that you get plenty of “hands on” dry fire practice before stepping out on the range.
Classroom training will consist of classroom instruction in accordance with Ohio law to include the NRA Basic Pistol Course. This will cover Safe Handling of Firearms, Ohio Conceal Carry Laws, Weapon parts, Weapon function, Loading & Unloading, Firearm Maintenance & Cleaning and Proper Storage of Firearms and Ammunition. We will also focus on the Six Marksmanship Skills: Stance, Grip, Sight Alignment, Sight Picture, Breath Control, and Trigger Control.
Range Training – Because we have our own onsite range, we are able to tailor our classes around our students to make sure that we meet each of their needs to ensure that they have a comfortable experience.
Requirements:
- Firearm, either revolver or semi-automatic (380 auto and up – no 22’s)
- 100 rounds of ammunition
- Eye and ear protection (available for rent)
- Holster optional
If you don’t own a firearm, consider waiting on purchasing one. Select Fire has firearms for sale, but handguns available to rent. There is an additional $25 fee for all-day handgun rental.
