Description

This class is required to obtain a Concealed Handgun Permit in Ohio. While there is no prerequisite for this class, basic handgun familiarity and usage is expected for your safety and those around you.

CLASS DETAILS:

This class is required to obtain a Concealed Handgun Permit in Ohio. We recommend this course even if you don’t wish to obtain your permit or carry concealed but have, or plan on having, a Handgun in your home for self defense. Our instructors will make you feel welcome and will take the time necessary to provide every student with the training they require to be successful. Our instructors will also be sure that you get plenty of “hands on” dry fire practice before stepping out on the range.

Classroom training will consist of classroom instruction in accordance with Ohio law. This will cover Safe Handling of Handguns, Ohio Conceal Carry Laws, Handgun parts, Handgun function, Loading & Unloading, Handgun Maintenance & Cleaning and Proper Storage of Handgun and Ammunition. We will also focus on the Six Marksmanship Skills: Stance, Grip, Sight Alignment, Sight Picture, Breath Control, and Trigger Control.

Range Training – Because we have our own onsite range, we are able to tailor our classes around our students to make sure that we meet each of their needs to ensure that they have a comfortable experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Handgun, either revolver or semi-automatic (.22LR and up)
• 100 rounds of ammunition
• Eye and ear protection (available for rent)

THINGS TO KNOW:

• Bring Government Issued ID
• Must be 21 or older to participate
• Please arrive 15 minutes early for registration and to start on time
• This class requires climbing stairs up to the training room
• Handgun Optional, If you do not own a handgun rental is available
• Minimum 100 rounds of ammunition (BYO or Available for purchase at SFTC)
• Must have closed toe shoes and no low-cut necklines
• Water bottles encouraged
• Feel free to pack a lunch (there is a refrigerator available in our training room). There will be time to go out to nearby fast food chains during the lunch break if that is preferred.
