Class Details:

This course offers owners and operators of the AR15-style rifles the necessary skills for the safe and proper application of this firearm platform. This class entails assembly, disassembly, maintenance, and cleaning, function checks, remedial action for malfunctions, fundamentals of marksmanship, and zeroing in sights/optics. INCLUDES ONE BOX OF .223 AMMUNITION AND RANGE TIME.

• Your AR15 rifle

• Basic Firearm Knowledge and Shooting Skills

Things To Know:

• Bring Government Issued ID
• Must be 18 or older to participate
• Please arrive 15 minutes early for registration and to start on time.
• If climbing stairs is an issue please let us know so we can accommodate
• Bring your AR-15 sporting rifle
• Bring Magazines, sling, cleaning kit (optional)
• Additional .223 ammunition must be purchased from Select Fire to use on the rifle lane
• Eye and Ear protection provided free of charge (feel free to bring you own if you prefer)
• Closed toe shoes and no low cut necklines

About the Instructor:

Jerry Cooper is an outstanding teacher and know what it’s like to perform under stressful situations. He speaks from experience. Jerry is a former member of the United States Army assigned to 1st Battalion Airborne Rangers unit and scout unit. He received extensive firearms training during his military service. After the military, Jerry worked six years as a Training Officer for the Ohio Department of Corrections. In addition to his Army and Training Officer experience, Jerry taught law enforcement and corrections techniques in Iraq on behalf of the U.S. government. He completed two teaching tours in Baghdad as a firearms instructor. During his time in Iraq, he taught weapons handling in the classroom and worked with Iraqi police recruits on the range during live fire training. Jerry will make you feel welcome and will take the time necessary to provide every student with the training they require to be successful.
