This course is the next step for Concealed Carry Permit Holders. Now that you have obtained your Concealed Carry Permit this is your next step. Select Fire believes it’s extremely important for everyone who carries a CCW to take this course. It takes practice to learn to draw from your holster. Speaking of holsters, there is much to think about in choosing a holster that is right and comfortable for you. Our instructors go over the various options and let you try them to see what works best for you. It’s also very important that you know how to manipulate your own handgun and add muscle memory. We will work drills for you to be able to practice at home for you to become proficient with your own handgun.
Select Fire also recommends this course if you have a weapon in your home for self-defense. We recommend being trained under stressful conditions in order to be proficient. Our instructors are outstanding teachers and know what it’s like to perform under stressful situations. They speak from experience. They will make you feel welcome and will take the time necessary to provide every student with the training they require to be successful.

- Malfunction clearances
- Tactical reload
- Emergency Reload
Required Equipment:
- Your firearm and holster
- Two magazines for semi-auto or one speed loader for revolver
- Magazine pouch/speed loader for revolver
- Wide sturdy belt to hold holster
- Concealment garment (ex. Sweatshirt, shirt, jacket, etc.)
- Eye and ear protection
Prerequisites:
- Basic Handgun Knowledge and Shooting Skills
Things To Know:
- Bring Government Issued ID
- Must be 21 or older to participate
- Please arrive 15 minutes early for registration and to start on time
- If climbing stairs is an issue please let us know so we can accommodate
- Handgun Optional, If you do not own a handgun SFTC will provide one for free
- Minimum 50 rounds of ammunition (BYO or Available for purchase at SFTC)
- Eye and Ear protection provided free of charge (feel free to bring you own if you prefer)
- Closed toe shoes and no low cut necklines
About the Instructor:
Jerry Cooper is an outstanding teacher and know what it’s like to perform under stressful situations. He speaks from experience. Jerry is a former member of the United States Army assigned to 1st Battalion Airborne Rangers unit and scout unit. He received extensive firearms training during his military service. After the military, Jerry worked six years as a Training Officer for the Ohio Department of Corrections. In addition to his Army and Training Officer experience, Jerry taught law enforcement and corrections techniques in Iraq on behalf of the U.S. government. He completed two teaching tours in Baghdad as a firearms instructor. During his time in Iraq, he taught weapons handling in the classroom and worked with Iraqi police recruits on the range during live fire training. Jerry will make you feel welcome and will take the time necessary to provide every student with the training they require to be successful.
